To contribute to the organisational goals by providing support to ASI Financial Services through implementation of effective solutions and effective business solution tools. Ability to be solution oriented and translate customer needs into scalable applications.


  • Perform actuarial valuations, including data preparation, analysis, calculations and modelling
  • Support execution of specialised reviews such as actuarial and financial reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (‘IFRS’)
  • Conceptualise and develop new models
  • Develop business and client reports and tools as well as automating these
  • Financial modelling
  • Analysis of data using a variety of tools
  • Development of visualisations and dashboards
  • Involvement in driving system development.


  • BSc Actuarial Science/Mathematics/Statistics
  • Honours degree (advantageous)
  • 4-5 Actuarial Exams or Exemption Recommendations (advantageous)
  • Working experience in at least 2 of R, Python, VBA, SQL
  • Experience with visualisation tools such as PowerBI
  • Experience within the insurance / financial sector (preferable)
  • Good understanding of the medical scheme and retirement fund legislation (advantageous)
  • Full broker accreditation with the Council for Medical Schemes (advantageous)
  • Completed the First Level Regulatory Examination as a Representative and/or Key Individual in Categories I, II, IIA, III and IV (advantageous)
  • Experience in performing valuations (advantageous)
  • Exposure in due diligence, mergers and acquisitions (advantageous).


  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as an analyst in a corporate environment, with a proven track record and/or ability
  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong data visualisation and presentation ability
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Macros (VBA)
  • Advanced financial modelling knowledge and skills
  • Strong creative problem-solving ability
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
